The Portable App Experience

Joe Kissel of Macworld has an article on his experience with portable apps running on a flash drive. There is some useful information there. Most important is to be srue that your drive is secure. As small as they are, the drives would be very easy to get lost, and you don’t want to find yourself on the front page of the newspaper as the latest victim of data loss.

I want to find out if there is a company or process whereby I can install an application to run solely off a flashdrive.  I have, as many do, the issue that I cannot install programs on my work computer but I have software that I need to run for my work.  Can you see the delima?
How do I put an application onto a flashdrive to run only from the flashdrive?
Who do I contact to get this accomplished?

There are a number of apps that can be run from your flash drive—and they’re fairly easy to install.

You can browse the software categories in the left hand side for a wide variety of such things.
