Forbes Reviews Samsung's Flash Drive Laptop
Forbes takes a look at Samsung’s Q30 Laptop. It’s the first consumer laptop that uses flash memory instead of a hard drive.
Flash drive prices are dropping by 40% a year, but hard drive prices are keeping up, making the flash based computers relatively expansive. The Samsung rings up at $3,700.
A more likely scenario, Forbes says, are hybrids—computers that use flash technology to speed startup times, but use hard drives for mass storage.
